Individual Counselling

People come to individual therapy with a purpose: to address pressing challenges, overcome stress, anxiety or depression, difficulties in their relationships and to reduce obstacles in their way. Some are so overwhelmed with life’s problems that they are incapacitated:

  • Unhappy with their lives
  • Stuck in a job they don’t like or that has become too stressful
  • Struggling in a relationship that’s not working for them, or that they want out of
  • Sleep-deprived after yet another sleepless night
  • Stuck ruminating over the past, or
  • Repeating the same behaviour patterns over and over but don’t know how to stop

Many come to therapy because they are dealing with strains in various relationships. Relationships are important to all of us and can often determine our happiness – or misery. We are involved in multiple relationships in our lives – whether it is our partners, children, siblings, parents, in-laws, friends, colleagues, or supervisors. When things go wrong, it can also have a domino effect on the other relationships in our lives, which can make us miserable. See us for an unbiased perspective on the situation and learn strategies to cope, repair, or leave relationships causing you inner turmoil.
The one thing everyone has in common is that they want to feel better, as soon as possible. Every client who comes into my office is unique. While I may have seen someone else with a similar problem, no two people are ever alike. Because of this, I tailor my approach to you using different techniques and modalities. Therapy is not “one size fits all” – it must feel right for you.

Individual psychotherapy will require a commitment. Where possible, it is best to arrange for a regularly scheduled time so that it becomes part of your weekly routine.
